Trupanion’s Tricked Out for Treats Pet-tacular is a photo contest bubbling with tail-wagging, purr-worthy fun! Starting October 1, get ready for a showcase of the best-dressed pets of the season. For a chance to win stylish swag, a custom pet portrait, global spotlight opportunities and ultimate bragging rights, show off your pet’s costume for all to see!
Choose from multiple categories that let your pet’s unique personality shine. Throughout the month, share with your friends, vote for your faves, and join our virtual celebration on October 30 where we'll unveil select “pick of the patch” winners. Official contest rules can be accessed here
Who can participate in Tricked Out For Treats Pet-Tacular? Do I have to be a Trupanion member?
No, you do not have to be a Trupanion member to participate! We encourage anyone to submit their pet(s) for entry into the contest.
How does the contest work?
- Say Cheese:Starting October 1, trick out your pet in their finest and snap some pics.
- Tag, Brag & Vote:Submit your photos, tag your category, then keep an eye out for your unique share link. Every vote cast using this link will be worth two, so share your link on social and encourage your friends to vote once per day.
- Tune In:Join our virtual celebration on October 30, where we'll announce select pick of the patch winners.
A full list of all ‘pick of the patch’ winners (including those not featured in the broadcast) will be posted to trickedout.trupanion.com following the streamed event.
When does the contest open?
Pets can be submitted starting October 1!
How many pets can I enter?
There is no limit! :)
How frequently can I vote? Can I vote for more than one pet?
You may vote one time per pet per day.
How can I maximize my pet’s chances of winning?
Our team is working round-the-clock-to review and approve all entries to ensure they're paw-sitively perfect.
Once your submission has been approved, you will receive an email containing your pet’s unique share link. Every vote cast using your link will be worth two, so share it far and wide – on social media, via text/SMS, by email, carrier pigeon … whatever it takes!
Share your entry on social media with the hashtag #TrickOrTrupanion for a chance to be featured across Trupanion’s social profiles, reaching hundreds of thousands of pet lovers across the globe!
Where do shelters/rescues fit in?
We've created a special category, Adorably Adoptable, to shine a spotlight on shelter and rescue pets looking for their forever homes. Submissions for this category will receive premier treatment on our showcase page, and because we're collecting more details during the submission process for this specific category, visitors will be able to browse available pets by location (and more!) to find their perfect pal.
They'll also have the opportunity to learn more about the pet’s shelter/rescue and connect with personnel directly – whether they're interested in adopting or want to explore ways to support.
Are the pets in the Adorably Adoptable category available for adoption?
Yes! Click each pet to view their pet profile and connect with their shelter/rescue organization directly.
Why are pets in the Adorably Adoptable category displayed differently than other submissions?
We’re excited to use this fun, feel-good initiative to spotlight cats and dogs in need of their forever homes. The Adorably Adoptable category is reserved for shelter and rescue personnel, with submissions requiring additional details to create a unique pet profile. These profiles help potential families find their perfect match.
Is there a cost to shelters/rescues to participate?
No! This platform and opportunity is 100% free.
When and where will the winners be announced?
On October 30, Trupanion will be hosting a virtual celebration to announce select “pick of the patch” winners. Following the event, a complete list of winners across each category will be featured on trickedout.trupanion.com and posted to Trupanion’s social media platforms. Follow us at @Trupanion (on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more) for the latest updates!
How are the winners determined?
The winners of each category will be determined by a combination of public voting and a panel of judges.
Are there prizes?
Absolutely! All submitted pets will receive a pet-tacular memento to commemorate their 2024 submission via email. The picks of the patch (category winners) will receive a special winner’s certificate, a pet-tacular swag bundle, a custom portrait of their pet, features across Trupanion’s social accounts, a winner’s toolkit to help showcase their award, and more!
